The Cyprus Nature Library

About the library:

Although there is a vast amount of literature and resources on the nature and environment of Cyprus, not much  is  easily available in Cyprus itself. In  order to help  rectify this  problem, the Cyprus Nature Library has been created by the North Cyprus Society for the Protection of Birds and Nature (Kuskor), with grant assistance from SAVE (Supporting Activities that Value the Environment), who are funded by USAID (United States Agency for International Development).

The aim of the library is to provide an international standard of literature and resources that relate to the nature and environment of Cyprus to everyone living in or visiting Cyprus. The library is aimed not only at those who work in environmental sectors in Cyprus but  also  local  living  nature  enthusiasts, visiting  tourists   with  an  interest  in  nature,  environmental educators, children, students, local and international researchers and anyone who has even a slight interest in the nature and environment of Cyprus.

The second, but equally important, aim of the library is to support and promote existing environmental education and environmental awareness raising activities and develop new environmental education projects in Cyprus. Close connections are being established with local schools, universities and other environmental non-profit organisation in Cyprus to help develop environmental education and awareness raising activities across the island.
